Ask Jeeves
Ask
Jeeves is example of a search engine that answers questions.
When a user enters a search term (or question), Ask
Jeeves responds with possible questions that the user can
ask followed by traditional search engine results. If the user
then selects the question that he/she wants answered, Ask
Jeeves then returns sites that answer that question.
The sponsored entries are provided by Google.
The "Featured Sponsor" (right top) is from Sprinks.
The main results are Teoma's
relevant sites for the search phrase. Below this, Ask
Jeeves also provides access to the top results for the search
phrase on Looksmart and Sprinks. The "Browse by Subject"
tab is an Ask
Jeeves directory.
Sites are submitted to Teoma
or
Ask Jeeves to get into Ask
Jeeves.

Jeeves: One of the most definitive spam definitions that I
have found is at AskJeeves/Teoma
who define the acts that will keep you from being ranked. Read
this between the lines -- no spamming, no doorway pages, no redirection,
and no cloaking.

The thing to remember is that you must have suitable URL content
and be engineered to beat your competition within Ask
Jeeves before you register your pages. Just registering with
Ask
Jeeves does not assure a suitable ranking.
