Inktomi

Inktomi is a search engine database used by (that powers) other search engines. You can view Inktomi's results at any of their partner’s sites. It is important to rank well in the Inktomi database because it powers so many other sites.

To rank well in Inktomi you should you use keywords in the title and meta tags, use a high frequency of keywords in the body, and use shorter documents. Inktomi is a crawling spider technology and thus any submission will lead to a full site being indexed.

Submission Times
Initially, it can take up to 4 weeks to get spidered into the Inktomi database. Inktomi will respider every page in its database on a monthly basis.

The thing to remember is that you must have suitable URL content and be engineered to beat your competition within Inktomi before you register your pages. Just registering with Inktomi does not assure a suitable ranking.
