Yahoo
Yahoo has both a human-edited directory and a spider-based index
provided by Google.
Sponsored results are provided by Overture
and appear at the top of the results page and additional entries
are presented at the bottom of the page whenever a next page is
available. If you want to get into Yahoo's
directory, you should use their Business Express plan.
Although it costs $299 each and every year (prices may vary),
it guarantees that your site will get reviewed with 7 days; however,
it does not guarantee that your site will get into the directory
or where it will be placed. Before submitting to Yahoo's
index, you should search the Yahoo
Directory and find the appropriate category for your site. When
filling out the form, make sure that the title and description
you submit contain keyword phrases relevant to your site. To get
into Yahoo's
"Web Page Matches", you should submit your site directly
to Google.
Sites have been declined by Yahoo
where there is not sufficient unique content on the pages submitted.
Yet another page selling the same product is not reason to be
in Yahoo.
The thing to remember is that you must have suitable URL content
and be engineered to beat your competition within Yahoo
before you register your pages. Just registering with Yahoo
does not assure a suitable ranking.
